Nicole Ari Parker has worked in television, film as well as on stage. Her most well-known role was for her character Teri (the fierce attorney) Joseph. Contractor was born in Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria through the age of seven. She was already exposed to numerous travel experiences and different cultures at a very young age. She attended boarding school between the ages of 7 to 9 in London. Then, she and her family relocated to Toronto (Canada) in Canada, where she spent her entire childhood. Contractor was a wonderful student in Toronto and was trained to be an expert ballet dancer. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school that specializes in the arts) the student studied dance and theatre. Contractor started acting at the age of 16, following nearly 10 years of dancing. She received a full-scholarship grant to attend the University of Toronto after graduating. There she earned her master's degree in theatre as well as a double major in psychology and social science. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having been a student for a year, went on to audition in an open audition for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadawhich she won the role. The production she appeared in received acclaim from Canadian theater critics. Contractor was given the chance to enroll in Stratford's conservatory, where a select eight men as well as four women can be accepted for a course lasting 20 weeks on classical theater which she was eager to take. She was scheduled to perform in the following season's production was confirmed. She was cast in the role in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
